The Kyiv Post, Ukraine’s foremost English-language weekly newspaper for 15 years, is launching a website (www.kyivpost.ua) offering news in Russian and Ukrainian. The new site is in addition to the newspaper’s print edition and its English-language website.
“The Kyiv Post offers more than a different style of journalism,” said Mohammed Zahoor, publisher of the Kyiv Post. “We follow Western standards of journalism, and abide by Western ethical standards. That makes our news product unique in the Ukrainian market.”
“However, because until today the Kyiv Post has only been available in English, its reporting has been denied to the majority of the Ukrainian people, who speak Ukrainian and Russian,” Zahoor said. “The new website eliminates that barrier.”
“We are pleased to bring the Kyiv Post to a wider audience through the new website,” said Post Managing Director, Jim Phillipoff. “We expect the site, with its high-quality content in the Ukrainian and Russian languages, to be rapidly embraced by news consumers and online advertisers. The site will provide the best reporting available, regardless of language, and will represent the Kyiv Post’s longstanding commitment to reportorial fairness and objectivity.”
The new website (www.kyivpost.ua) is linked to the newspaper’s existing English-language website. The site will feature articles in Ukrainian and Russian to enable many people to read the Kyiv Post in their native languages.
